NUR Lab

NUR Lab innenliegender Sonnenschutz Verdunklungsvorhang

Place: Beer Sheva, Israel

Client: Ben Gurion University of the Negev

Architects: Liran Messer and Alon Sarig

Design/Realization: 2024/2025

Scope of work: Interior sun protection and darkening curtains

The refurbished academic research space of the NUR Lab is fitted with a multi-layered system of curtains along the curved window front. It adapts to the harsh desert climate in that the curtains provide internal solar shading through to blackout to allow projections due to changing transparency.
The colour scheme of the blackout curtains echoes the tripartite division of the window front created by the external columns.
